Today I have for you an overhaul of the woodworking activity in The Sims 4.

This includes overrides of the current EA woodworking recipes and startcrafting menus. Any mod that overrides the same files will be incompatible with this one.

This is also compatible with my “Fabricator as Woodworking” mod.

New Woodworking Ingredients/Materials

With this mod, you have 2 new materials to use as ingredients when crafting.

This includes:

• Wood
• Glue

all woodworking recipes will now call for one of the above new materials to craft. All ingredients must be in the sims inventory to count toward the ingredient count in the recipe.

There are two ways at this time to purchase these new materials:

1. By clicking on the woodworking table, and choosing “Buy Woodworking Materials”

2. By clicking on your active sim and choosing “Go Shopping” > “The Toolshead Hardware Store”. Open Monday – Friday. You will not see the menu on weekends.

Once purchased by either of the above methods, the materials purchased will be found in the sim’s personal inventory.

EA Overrides

All EA woodworking recipes no longer cost money to craft if you have the ingredients just like cooking! If you do not have the ingredients to craft you will be required to pay to craft the item.

Next, the startcrafting menus have been changed to now show in a collapsable pie menu. This is to help tidy up the interactions on the wood workbench for future additions to this mod.

All menus now show as a full window instead of the single pie menus. This is to make it easier to see ingredient requirements as well as an image of what you are crafting. (*see below photo)

Required Ingredients vs Optional Ingredients

By default crafting with ingredients is optional. You will be able to craft with money instead of using ingredients, or a mix of both.

If you have the Cottage Living “Simple Living” lot challenge active on your home lot all ingredients on the woodworking bench will be required. You will be unable to craft the recipe with money. Just like cooking.
